Getting the iPhone / iPod Touch Out of Recovery Mode
ok, so I managed to get my iPod Touch stuck in recovery mode – it wouldn’t restore for some reason (I got an error) and you can’t get it back out of recovery mode.
…Oh but you can!
After some searching around, I found that all you have to do is download something called QuickPWN, run it, turn the iPhone / iPod Touch off by holding down both the power button (on the top) and the home button (on the front, under the screen) until it turns off, plug it in and turn it on.
QuickPWN gets the device out of restore mode and reboots it!
(if you do want to know how to get it into recovery mode, see here: http://www.ichilton.co.uk/blog/iphone/getting-the-iphone-ipod-touch-into-recovery-mode-48.html)
Thanks for the tip – that was really helpful
hey thank you so much for the info. I was in recovery mode forever. I searched the web and couldn’t find anything helpful. I am so grateful that I dont have to restart my iphone and loose all the picturs of my daughters birth. Thank you again.
nice post, thx for sharing it
Thank you so much, this is the only place where I found the right instructions, been digging on the internet for hours now. Thank you so much.
what exactly from quickpwn needs to be downloaded?
because i downloaded ipod touch firmware and my ipod isn’t doing anything but flashing the logo and when i hit open on it all that happened was itunes opening. so i dont understand how that worked. care to share?
I tried to install the new 3.0 software update from another source than apple and i paid the price; now it is stuck in recovery mode; i tried your approach; but Quickpwn says: The IPSW file you selected does not match any firmware version QuickPwn supports. Either the IPSW file is corrupted, or the firmware is unsupported.
Please help me
